New Forest Sub-Themes A new Forest Sub-Theme was added for the “Dead” Forest! SpoOoOoOoky! A new Forest Sub-Theme was added for the “Autumn” Forest! Check out both themes by selecting the Forest Theme then clicking the sub-theme selector at the bottom of the right menu in Build Mode. Shortcut to Replace Themes Select a sub-theme (paint brush cursor) and Ctrl+Left Click on a tile to change that tile and all connected tiles of the same sub-theme into the sub-theme you selected! No longer will you need to hand paint each tile to change the theme of a room. Thanks and shoutout to the community for asking for this feature. We’ll work it into one of the Tutorials soon as well. Locked Canopy Doors Oops! We missed adding the colored locks to the Canopy Locked Doors, they are there now! Bug Fixes and Enhancements Fixed an issue with the bomb fuse SFX being heard outside of rooms.

Retreatle The new Beetle Enemy is here: Retreatle! Is it a feature or a bug? (I stole that joke from our Lead Composer). The Retreatle is a new enemy with some fun interactions. While its shell is on, it can’t be hurt unless you shoot an arrow directly at its open eye, or hit it into a pit. The shell can be removed with the Frog Glove, the Retreatle will scamper towards its shell once removed. The shell can be pushed and also weigh down floor switches and transparent switches. If the shell is pushed into a pit or is far enough away across an obstacle, the Retreatle will… retreat! With its shell removed the Retreatle can easily be defeated. Other various fixes and enhancements Many optimizations to help alleviate FPS drops. Wide wallstairs were breaking the wall next to them. Player shadow on level complete screen was offset in other aspect ratios than 16:9. Lizarc and Hollow enemies would sometimes float when resetting animation. Various audio issues fixed. Gooliath was not spawning in properly. Warp sound was playing on level start. Rats were getting stuck on unspawned items. Spike animation fix when moving between rooms. Up/down block getting was stuck when an enemy was defeated on top of it. Loading screen was not showing when returning to build mode from the level complete screen. Water! Water tiles have been added at the top of the right Tiles menu, these are mostly decorative for now. We will add a Water Theme later on which will expand the use of Water Tiles. Hopscorch enemies will try to avoid water, if they chase you onto a water tile they will be defeated. We also added a Murky Water variant. Poison tiles have been enhanced to have the same animations as the water tiles. We also added a poison bubble animation. Big Heart fix Picking up a Big Heart will add an additional heart to your lives and restore your health to full. It’s now possible to pick up a Big Heart to restore your health if you have taken damage but have the max number of hearts.

Security Update Unity recently identified a security vulnerability extending back to games made in Unity 2017 and later, which includes our game. We have applied the fix. More information can be found on Unity’s site here: https://unity.com/security/sept-2025-01 Decorative and Locked Chests There are now decorative variants for the treasure chest! There is also a two-tile wide “Big Treasure Chest” which also has variants that are locked, requiring the matching colored key to open them. Quick Test Feature Ever wish you could quickly test your dungeon without moving the player starting location around? Now you can! Hover over the Playtest button and a new “Quick Test” button will pop out. Click this button then click anywhere in your dungeon to spawn the player there. The player will also spawn with max hearts, keys, gold and all tools in their inventory so you can easily test!

Our latest Update is here! Brigadier Skuhl has risen from the depths to defend the dungeons of his yet-to-be revealed master! We’ve also added a new Hollow enemy that shoots rocks in addition to other enhancements and bug fixes, check out the notes below for more details. New Features Brigadier Skuhl Boss – We’re excited to share a brand new Boss has been added! Brigadier Skuhl slashes with his claws. He’s immune to arrows, so use your sword or bombs to damage the arms. When the arms are defeated, his head becomes vulnerable. Once the head takes enough damage he goes into his next phase and gains a sword that he can slash with and throw. Defeating the arms and damaging the head again will place him in his last phase where he has two swords! Skuhl will teleport in front of you anytime a player gets behind him. When he’s attacking with Swords, he will lean to the side when doing a slash attack and not lean at all when he is going to throw. Try to read his attacks and dodge accordingly! Skuhl has similar linking tokens like Gooliath, matching his various phases and behaviors. Hollow Enemy – A new enemy joins the game! Our May/June Update is here! This update brings a brand new enemy, a Sword Spin attack, the ability to Duplicate Rooms and more! We also have some other enhancements and bug fixes, check out the notes below for more details. New Features Pakrat Enemy – Pakrat is here to steal your items! The new Pakrat enemy can move up to 3 tiles at once and will home in on any items it comes within 3 tiles of and pick them up! Defeating the Pakrat will drop whatever item it picked up. Pakrat will only pickup one item, but if the item stacks it will continue to pick up more of that same item and add to the stack. Pakrat is also a small enemy so you can eat it with the Frog Glove! Yum! Sword Spin Attack – After swinging your sword, keep the button held down to charge up. Once charged, release the button to perform a Sword Spin Attack! This attack does double damage and hits everything around you. After you charge it up, you can keep the button held down and move around before you use it, however you’ll move a little slower than usually while you do this. Copy Room and Copy Room Attributes – Hover your mouse over the Add Room button and you’ll notice two new options pop up! Now you can Copy a Room or Copy Room Attributes. Our April Update is here! This update brings Colored Keys to the game as well as full controller support! We also have some other enhancements and bug fixes, check out the notes below for more details. New Features Colored Keys and Locks – We added Red, Blue, and Green keys to the game as well as similarly colored locks and Key Blocks! Now you have even greater control when designer your dungeon and granting access to different rooms Key Block Linking – We added the ability to link from a Key Block! Now when a Key Block is unlocked and destroyed, a link can trigger Linking to Tree – We added the ability to link to the Large Tree and Dead Large Tree. Linking to it makes it shake and drop its item. Linking from Tree – We also added the ability to link from the Large Tree and Dead Large Tree. This link will trigger when the tree shakes. You can shake the tree more than once to keep triggering the link. Reminder that Bombs and Scuttleswine both shake trees! Controller Support Full Controller Support – We updated our plugin and added the following enhancements Connect/Disconnect Warning – An on-screen popup warns you when a controller connects or disconnects Game Pauses on Disconnect – If an actively used controller disconnects the game will now pause Broader Controller Support – We updated our plugin to support more controller types. Our April Designer Challenge starts TODAY! The challenge runs 4/17/25 – 5/4/25 We’ll play your dungeons on stream on 5/4/25! The April Designer Challenge is to create a “Spring” themed dungeon! Here are the rules: Flowers (found in the Forest Theme tiles) must be used as a clue in your dungeon. You can get as creative with this as you want, it could be a path of flowers leading the way or stepping on certain color flowers with transparent switches on them. Lots of possibilities! Hide multiple End Level Tiles in your dungeon! These could be secret super hard to find exits, or they could be alternate ways to win. How many you use is up to you! Egg hunt! Hide pieces of 1 gold around your dungeon (in bushes, crates, enemies, pots etc) and challenge the player to collect them all. Add “DC” or “Designer Challenge” to your dungeon name or description Note: You are welcome to submit more than one dungeon! Our March update is here! This update includes a handful of new objects and enhancements as well as many bug fixes. Cracked Floor Tile – Cracked Floor Tiles will crumble away as soon as you step off of them and turn into a pit. Leaving a room and re-entering will restore them. Linking from a Cracked Floor Tile will trigger the link when the tile crumbles. Linking to a Cracked Floor Tile will restore that tile when triggering the link. Note that if you link to a Cracked Floor Tile, it will no longer restore when leaving and re-entering a room.   Fire Lizarc – A new enemy variant has appeared! This yellow Lizarc wearing a red hood is even deadlier than his green counterpart. The Fire Lizarc shoots Fire Arrows which can be used to light torches. The Fire Lizarc also moves faster and the arrows it shoots travel faster than a normal arrow.   Flying Razor Traps – A new variant of the Razor Traps is here: the Flying Razor Trap! Flying Razor Traps come in the same Red and Blue variants as the standard Razor Trap. A Flying Razor Trap can fly over pits and won’t trigger cracked floor tiles like the regular Razor Traps do!   Inactive Razor Traps – You can now place Inactive Razor Traps in build mode. We’re going back to something we did for one of the very first creator challenges, but instead of one room it’s… The two-room challenge! It’s time for another Designer Challenge! Designer Challenges are when we give you custom rules to apply to your dungeon. For this challenge we want to see some SpoOoOoOky dungeons, here are the rules: SPOOPLE BUSTERS! Duration: 10/27 through 11/7 The player must start with the Lantern (or find the lantern in the first room) Each room must start as a dark room (place an unlit torch to turn a room into a dark room) Each room must have at least 1 Spoople enemy (ghost) You must defeat every Spoople to open the door or create a path to the End Level Tile (If you need some tips on how to set this up, check out our Discord channel!) Put “Designer Challenge” or “DC” in your dungeon title. Have fun! If you need help reach out in Discord or on the Steam Community Forums.

In addition to many bug fixes we added a new tool and more! Update Notes New Tool: Remote Bomb! Now YOU choose when thing s’plode. Place down a remote bomb, then hit the same button to make the placed bomb blow up!   Pit detection enhancement: The player will slow down a bit first when they run up to a pit. This makes it easier to navigate around pits without falling in.   Adjusted enemy hitboxes: We made some adjustments to the hitboxes of enemies, they’ll be a bit easier to hit now.
