Lost Codex and Encrypted Signs The Lost Codex is a new item! Picking it up allows the player to read messages on the Encrypted Signs. The Lost Codex can be found under items and the Encrypted Signs can be found in the variant sub menu for Signs under Objects. If a player tries to read an Encrypted Sign without the Lost Codex in their inventory, the message will not display. Link Layer Get ready to get organized! Link Layers allow you to organize your links into separate layers. You can hide or view all layers at once, so making updates to complex link setups is much easier now. For existing dungeons, all of your existing links will be on Layer 1 by default. You can drag and drop those links into new layers if you wish. Check out the new Tutorial on Link Layers to learn more! Camera Pivots in Build Mode Hitting Ctrl+1 while in Build Mode will save the current camera position. Now if you hit “1” on the keyboard, your camera will move you to that saved view. Hitting “~” (to the left of the “1” on most keyboards) will return your camera to the position before you hit “1”. You can also save different camera positions to numbers 2-9 as well and quickly swap between different parts of your dungeon in Build Mode. Other Link Enhancements If you hover your mouse over the source or target in the link menu, the link arrow will be highlighted […]

Mini-Map Pressing “M” on keyboard or hitting “R3” on a controller now display a live in game mini-map. You can still find the full scrollable map in the Pause menu. Lava Lava has been added, this devious tile will instantly kill any player that steps in it. I mean, it’s lava. What did you expect? Acid We added a green variant of the Poison tile called “Acid”. Acid is similar to poison but deals more damage and causes a bit of knockback. Sword Spin Enhancement We made some changes to how the Sword Spin attack works. When you hold down the button the sword is set to, a bar will now appear under the player showing how long until it is charged up. The bar will turn green and disappear to let you know the Sword Spin is fully charged. Sword Spin charges are no longer lost when the Player takes damage. Bug Fixes and Enhancements Arrows reflected off of a Triangle Block were not course correctly properly Stool object can now be bumped by a sword hit (this gives the player a way to get a stool out that is stuck against a wall) When obtaining an item and jumping in the air, any spawning links will now play after the player is done freezing in air Exported dungeon images now have a transparent background (instead of black, to make them more printer friendly) Trophies no longer mention obtaining an extra life Big thanks to everyone that helped us […]

The Green Slither will wander without stopping and try to dodge your Sword swings. The Purple Slither will leap at any player that walks in front of it. Suspend and Resume Play We’ve added the ability to suspend and resume a dungeon! When attempting to leave a dungeon you are in the middle of playing you will be prompted to create a suspend point. Doing so will change the “Play” button into a “Resume” button. Clicking the “Resume” button will prompt you to continue from your suspend point or restart. Each dungeon can only have one active suspend point at a time. Note that this feature does not work when Uploading a dungeon. More Arrow Traps! We added a new “Triple Arrow Trap”, “Triple Fire Arrow Trap” as well as a single arrow version of the Fire Arrow Trap! In the spirit of friendly competition, our favorite dungeon will receive a special “Designer Challenge Winner!” Tag to forever highlight it. Retreatle The new Beetle Enemy is here: Retreatle! Is it a feature or a bug? (I stole that joke from our Lead Composer). The Retreatle is a new enemy with some fun interactions. While its shell is on, it can’t be hurt unless you shoot an arrow directly at its open eye, or hit it into a pit. The shell can be removed with the Frog Glove, the Retreatle will scamper towards its shell once removed. The shell can be pushed and also weigh down floor switches and transparent switches. If the shell is pushed into a pit or is far enough away across an obstacle, the Retreatle will… retreat! With its shell removed the Retreatle can easily be defeated. Other various fixes and enhancements Many optimizations to help alleviate FPS drops. Wide wallstairs were breaking the wall next to them. Player shadow on level complete screen was offset in other aspect ratios than 16:9. Lizarc and Hollow enemies would sometimes float when resetting animation. Various audio issues fixed. Gooliath was not spawning in properly. Warp sound was playing on level start. Rats were getting stuck on unspawned items. Spike animation fix when moving between rooms. Up/down block getting was stuck when an enemy was defeated on top of it. Loading screen was not showing when returning to build mode from the level complete screen. Clicking on or searching for a User Name in Online Dungeons now properly returns a list of dungeons in descending order. Comment Count added to […]
